Sir Tristan

Sir Tristan is a knight of King Arthur. His name mean "sorrow" because of his mother's death at his birth. Sir Tristan was really good at playing the harp, hunting, dancing and jousting. He is remembered from his love affair with Iseult. King Mark of Cornwall(his uncle) sent him to go to Ireland and escort Iseult back to to Cornwall to marry King Mark. During the way back, Sir Tristan and Isolde drank a love potion because they mistakened it for wine and then instead of King Mark and Iseult falling in love it was Sir Tristan and Iseult. King Mark and Iseult married eachother but then she was still having an affair with Tristan. Tristan was exiled from Cornwall. Sir Tristan and Iseult ran away and lived the rest of their days on the run. Legend has it that Sir Tristan was killed by King Mark when he was playing his harp for Iseult. Mark snuck in from behind and killed him with a dagger or a lance in the back. Their are many different stories about Sir Tristan and his love affairs. The Italian version of the story says that Sir Tristan and Iseult had two children.
